Last entered data to show on a form after closing and reopening

    Hi All,

I have created one form that has many text boxes and combo boxes that are recording data to different tables. The form I created details production capacity information for many machines. In the background I have a table for each machine.

The form shows the information entered for each machine. My problem is that when I close the form and reopen the data on screen is gone. Is there any way that when I reopen the form that the last entered data remains in the form

the answer is probably yes - - but the implementation depends on how you've structured your data & forms, which isn't clear from your post.

particularly unclear is the "recording data to different tables" - are these all subforms contained in an unbound main form?

in regard to opening the forms to new data - - there is a form property that controls this - is it set to New Data?

    Not sure this helps.

Thanks for your reply. What I have at the moment is one form with a number of text.combo boxes. This form does not contain any sub forms. I have approx 8 tables and therefore depending on the data recorded the text/combo boxes are recording data to assigned tables. I am recording capacity information for a number of machines. I set up a table for each machine!! Do I need to set up sub forms for each machine within the form ? ? You mention "New Data" where do I see this property ?

    Thanks again for your help

    Tom.

I tend to think that the better approach would be to use subforms rather than comboboxes.

Try a couple in a new quick test form and see.

    Hope it helps.
