I just don't know how to. Been trying everything all afternoon and have looked every were for help. "easy just use windows explorer and change the name and extension of the db" tried this and could not get it to work. I need some step by step help. Thanks in advance

Thanks for answering, I do know that it locks the db down so users can't access the back ground. I was able to do it in windows 97. I'm currently in Vista and can't do it.
    Thanks

what does "cant do it" mean??

    I read this: http://www.filesuffix.com/extension/accdr.html

according to that, a change of the extension is all you need. I actually tested this too, and it worked fine for me. Not sure what to tell you at this pt...

however, nothing happened when I changed the extension. It was the same thing as opening an accdb. I still had all permissions and such.
