Importing Excel file. (2 non numeric values won't import)

    Using Import Macro

Field in a table is set up as text
Most values in original excel spreadsheet are in decimal point (ex. 98.856)

on row 30 i get 2 values in the following format (103-65). They r refusing to import
    Any suggestions ?

with the caveat that Access97 is no longer something I work with......

I will guess that because the fields are like 98.856.....that the import feature senses them as decimal - - ignoring the table field description being text.

You can force the perception to text by entering some text data in the first records.....crude but effective....

Sort the source table so the offending rows are at the top - this way even if it ignores the 'text' field setting it should arrive at a 'text' field setting on its own.
