'.' showing as '_' in crosstab query

    Hello again

I have a crosstab query which reports on timecodes staff have used.

The format of the codes we use is normally R.Jxxxxxx (where X are numbers)

The format of this field in the table is text.

When the query is run the '.' between the R and J is showing as an underscore.
Any idea what is causing this and how I can fix it?

    Thanks!

I'm assuming that the R.Jxxxxx is showing as columns on your crosstab? I believe Access sees these values as field names when the crosstab runs. Having periods in field names is a no-no and Access converts to an underscore. You could use a replace function to get rid of the periods during crosstab execution.

    many thanks for the reply.

In the end I switched the row/column headers around (which ended up looking better anyway), and the R.J.... renders fine now.

There is almost always more than one solution to a problem....or 'skin a cat' as they say...

    Good job!
