    Form dropdown selection

    Hi

wonder if you could possibly help again need some advice please. I have created a table and form with various drop downs on it ie Department, Year, Cost Centre & Serial No. What I am looking to try and do is from the selcetions taken from the drop downs produce a contract Number seperated with /(back slash) example is FM/11/504/01. I would like to try and add this onto the form so as when I select department the FM/would appear in another box and similar with the other 3 choices to evelturaly produce the contract number which I can then select to produce my letters and lables ect. appreciate any advice

There are several free video tutorials here dealing with combo boxes and lists.

For advice: I would recommend you use some incrementing number for your ContractNo.
I would NOT suggest putting any special characters "/" in such a "number".
I would strongly recommend that you do not try to put too much significance/meaning into your identifier. Have a separate field for each separate piece of info.
