    Relationship Design

    Hello,

I would like to create a database for my father's small business. He has a landscaping company and does billing on a monthly basis. I am thinking we will need 3 tables to set up, but it may require more. One table would be for customers, with customer ID as a primary key, the second one would be a services tables, that lists the services he provides, I assume the primary key would be some sort of Job ID field, and the third table would be for Invoices, in which I am not sure what could be a primary key? I do have some experience with Access and setting up relationships. There are of course many customers he has, he has multiple services, but each invoice is only connected to one customer. How should I set up the relationship in Access(one to one, one to many, many to many) and what primary and foreign keys should I establish? I may be forgetting something but this will get me off to a good start, Thanks for your help!

Use invoice ID, this table will have customer_id and service_id, these two fields connect to other two tables.

Have you already examined all of the templates and sample db's available from MS? I expect there is at least one that will work for part of your project and can be modified to complete the rest.

I have looked at some of the templates and they do not fit our needs. I just need to know how the table relationships should be set to, one to many, many to many, etc? Thanks again.
