    Form / Switchbox interaction

Maybe someone can tell me what I am doing incorrectly.

I created a very simple continous form using an SQL statement to show all 8 records in a 2 field table (a number primary key and a text field) as a reference for my db users. It opens correctly when I open it from the db control window but when I open the form via the switchbox, the text fields are not populated. I tried opening it both in "edit mode" and in "add mode" with the same result.

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

Pls upload a sample database in 2000 mdb format to have a look on it.

The switchboard edit form option should be alright for continuous form.

However, Switchboard by default cannot open the form in datasheet view.

To open a form in datasheet view,
you must open it by a general button
or you open it by coding it to run a vba code to open the form in datasheet view.

I will upload a sample as soon as possible. My working db is far too large to post the actual db. Your note regarding the datasheet format is interesting. I orginally created the form with datasheet format then converted it to continous. Might that gum-up the works?

I recreated the problem table and form from scratch in a new db. The switchboard problem still occurs. As I am using Access 2003 and File|Export did not specifically include an Access 2000 mdb format and Tools|Database Utilities|Convert Database|To Access 2000 format was grayed out, I hope this Access 2003 mdb file helps.

    Uploaded the revised version.

You should choose the edit form option instead of add data form option in switchboard

As I stated in my opening post, I tried the edit form option and it didn't work. I tried it again and this time it worked. I must not have opened and closed the db before testing the edit form trial the first time. Regardless of depth of my oversight, thanks for the help and another problem solved.
