    Question VB Editor requires password

I am importing tables files forme etc... from one DB to another.
Some of the forms are password protected in the original DB.
They will not be imported to the new DB without entering the VB editor password.

I know the VB Password and I enter it but still forms will not import from old DB to new without CMD Prompt telling me i need to supply the VB PW.

    Please help.

Unprotecting...do you mean opening it in exclusive?
    I'll try that.
In the original DB I do open the VB Editor and supply the PW but after that I still am unable to import, copy what ever without the cmd prompt for the pw.

dude, you have to UNPROTECT the vb project in the orig. db, otherwise imported objects that have code associated with them will be rejected. Because of the PW. make sense?

If I remember right, I had the same issue a while back. Don't quote me 100% though.

Could you explain to me what you mean by unprotect exactly? Like I said, I am supplying the password in the VB editor. Do you mean unprotect it some other way?
Obviously opening the orig. in exclusive didnt work.

I am a little confused, is it something obvious I am missing?

exclusive vs. shared has nothing to do with this (I hope!)

the PW prompt comes up on import? What I meant was DELETE the pw out of the target DB and then try it.

If the prompt comes up repeatedly, maybe you actually forgot the password? Don't rule that one out!

In the original DB I know the password and am able to unprotect the project.
In the new DB there is no password set on anything yet.
First thing I tried was just supplying the PW in the orig. DB and import. Still asks for pw in VB editor.

The next thing I tried was supply pw in vb editor in orig db, then went to tools\db properties\protection and then un checked the "lock project for viewing" and then tried to import again but then i get a different prompt saying that user admin, (me) has placed the DB in a state that on machine (the one im using) that prevents it from being opened or locked.

I guess I could recerate the forms and reports that wont go over but Id sure like to do uit the easy way.

    Im horribly confused.

    In my access 2002,
To delete the vba module password, you must open the vb project in the vba module.
Then right click on the project, and select properties
There is a lock in the protection tab.
Untick it by using your vba password.
Clear the old password and confirm the changes.

Access 2010 might have similar procedures to follow so as to delete the password.
