    Error problem

I have an occasional error that occurs after de-bugging code (see attached). It seems to be a table open or a hanging connection in a Word merge operation. The solution is to close and re-open the DB. Is there some code I can run that will re-set the DB without having to close and re-open it?

    Thanks
    Wayne

first thing that comes to mind is that you've got the db set to open as exclusive.

When you run a merge from Access, the db has to be opened AGAIN, so Word can query the dataset.

by the way, welcome back! Same (beep), different day? =)

    Hey Adam,

Not sure what the bleep is going on...I just had to re boot the computer to re-set this time.

I have run several merges in a row without this .... This time it was a temp Table that was created by a query that had an error.

I don't know how you know that, Wayne. A temp table? umm...OK!

I don't know much about temp tables, especially since I'm out of the Access world now.

If I remember right, they're created sporatically, or maybe on cue, when something else happens, but I'm not sure. But I know that's why the database bloats in size!
