    Slow Search

    Good afternoon all.

I been on the job for about a year and nine months. I inherited an Access project (.apd) file that users use as a front end to our SQL database.

This file was created pre-Access 2003, but in Access 2003, the file works just fine and dandy. This file has many forms, reports, macros, and modules. The queries and tables are get pulled in from the SQL database.

However, network admin wants everyone to upgrade to Access 2007.

My users have found that when they open up a form, the data populates a little longer than when it did in Access 2003. Not long but it's noticeable. However, when a user does a simple FIND (CTRL+F) on a column, say VendorID, it takes forever for the result to come back or Access 2007 locks up and crashes.

Again, when a user does the same process in Access 2003, the results come back quick and never locks up.

My attempt to resolve this issue was this:
**Create a new adp file in Access 2007 and then import the objects I need from Access 2003. Result: Did not work.

Is there a way to resolve this issue?

So for now, everyone is back on Access 2003 so they can work like before.

Thanks and hope some someone can guide me to an answer.

    I resolved my own issue!!!

Originally, the form used a VIEW to populate the data. So after reviewing other forms that work similar as my issue form, I changed the form to use a Select statement instead of a VIEW. After that change, eveything worked great.
