How to show new record at the top of a subform

    Hi,

I have a database in access 2007. The main form has a subform and I would like a blank new record as the first record of a subform. Is there a way to do that without making two separate subforms (one for a blank new record subform and the other for records that already exist)?
I really appreciate it if sombody could help me.

    Thank you,
    Eriko

You should add date_add (date&time) or autonumber in table when you create sub form select sort by field date_add or autonumber

New record data always comes at the end

Thank you very much for your reply.
I tried adding both "addDate" and "autoNum" but the new record data still comes at the end in both ascending and descending sort.
I also added "Date()" as a default value for "addDate".
Is there anything I might have missed??

    Hi,

    thanks again for your reply..

I set the subform's "Order By" property as "AddDate" and it does sort by AddDate but the new record still doesn't show up at the top
The new record has DATE() as its default value so it has the newest date. Do you have any ideas???

    Thank you so much,
    Eriko
