Okay, I am now being driven MAD!
I have a list of students, a list of books, copy numbers and loans.
I have created the relationship (Students < Loans > Copies > Book) and now want to create a single query that lists all students who can borrow a book.
The restriction is that no student can take more than 3 books out.
I have existing data and have entered it; where I now have many students who have borrowed and returned books, some have books out and some have never borrowed a book. I want to create a query that simply lists those students who can still borrow a book (< 3 loans currently out).
The query I have is

However, this fails to list all students appropriately. It fails to list any student who has borrowed a book and returned it but has not borrowed a book since (therefore they have an entry in Loan Date and Return Date for each entry in Loan).
Where am I going wrong?
