Split Database / Added Security - No Reports now

We have been running an Access Database (2002-2003 Version) for some time now but were starting to experience locked errors. So while reading this forum the consensus was to split the database, so I did and the entire database was there.

I then decided to add users and rights to the new front end and now the many reports that were originally they are gone. I have logged in as the administrator and still no reports. The queries and tables are there but not the reports.

What could have happened and how do I get them back?

The reports are *only* in the FrontEnd.

Ok I'm a little confused. I split the database: \Database\database.mdb

It had me create a database_be.mdb under a folder I created:
    \Database\Split BE Folder

Then I went back into \Database\database.mdb and created security logins

So now I use a shortcut created by Access by the security wizard.

Isn't the shortcut taking me to the Frontend of the database?

    Just wondering,

    Start in:

That looks like it shoild work and take you into the FrontEnd of the system. Try holding down a <SHIFT> key while using the shortcut and see if you can see more of the FrontEnd.

I held down shift but it didn't do anything different. Then I went into the Backend file and it too doesn't show any reports nor does it ask for any security items.

Any chance they are simply hidden? Did you make a backup copy of the system *before* splitting it?

Is there a way to bring them in from a backup copy?

How would I check to see if they are hidden?

Also, If I bring in reports from my backup copy, will all other data come with it and make duplicates?

Make a backup of the FrontEnd 1st. The import lets you select each object to import.

Ok I have tracked somethings that cause the Reports to "Disappear".

Once the database has been secured and I re-enter the database under another user (Read-only), the reports are there.

If I'm in as another user (Doesn't matter what type of user) and someone else tries to access the database as themselves (Read-only) they get the following error and the reports disappear.

"You tried to lock table 'MSysAccessObjects' while opening it, but the table cannot bet locked because it is currently in use. Wait a moment, and then try the operation again." Then we could click OK after a minute or so.

    Any ideas?

Ahh...a user level security (ULS) issue. I've played with it a little but never seriously so I'm not much help here, sorry.
