"You tried to lock table 'MSysAccessObjects' while opening it"....

Does this happen for any other users or only certain users? Are all users opening the frontend via the shortcut which has the crucial /WRKGRP parameter that points to the security mdw file? Has any of MSAccess's default options been changed for your MSAccess or any other users MSAccess which might try to open the db 'exclusively'?

Well I'm not too sure on who it does it to and who it doesn't. I will have to check on this Sunday. I was interrupting the work process here so I decided to continue this battle on the weekend.

As for using the same short-cut: Yes - I copied the same one around.

As far as I know, they are all using the same defaults. I'll know more on Sunday. I'll post back what happens.

Thanks for hanging in there with this problem. I am going to buy a self help book for Access over the weekend as well.
