    Automatic Oracle Database connexion

    Hi,

I have an Acces application which connects automatically to an Oracle database via an ODBC driver.

I managed to remover the acces password but I need to change the database password and connect string.

I can't find any information in access help.

    Any help is welcome.

    Thanx

thanx but, no it does not solve my problem

my problem is not accessing the Oracle database.

The problem is that I am accessing automatically.

I need to use a different user/password and connect_string but can't get the ODBC connection dialog box to pop up and do the changes I want to do.

I also need to get rid of the automatic login.

I've never come across this. I assume the system DSN through Windows has been changed (or is that what you're referring to?).

Have you tried exporting everything into another db then linking to the tables with the new credentials?

    thanx, TheShabz

    F.Y.I.
I am an Oracle developper and know very little about Access or Microsoft. Thanx for bearing with me.

I am not sure what I am looking for but I don't think it is the system DSN. The reason being some Acces applications my new client is using login automatically and some don't. With so little knowledge, I figure it has been set at the .mdb level.

To make things worse, the workstation I have to use in in french. French help is useless for me even if it is my mother tongue...

I will try exporting to a new db and see what happens and give you feedback.

    Thanx again

It all depends on if the connection string was written in VBA to connect automatically or using the DSN through windows. If its the former, open up the VBA window (alt+F11) and look for it. if its through the system DSN, Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC) and adjust accordingly.

    TheShabz was right

    Thanx !

It was a DSN entry. I could not find it due to french configuration. The translators, paid per word kill me, they translated DSN to a full sentence. Something like 'Source de Données Systeme'...
