    access 2007 runtime

    Hello
    I have a database access 2003 with user level security. That means with login and password. User level security is not supported in access 2007. (.accdb, .accde, .accdc, .accdr). I have convert the database from .mdb to .accdb. Now I am able to open the database on a computer with access 2007 pre-installed without login and without a password. When I trie to open the database on a computer without access 2007 but with access 2007 runtime I get a message.: "Microsoft Office Access has encountered a problem and need to close. We are sory for the inconvenience" + send report to microsoft.
    Summary
    I have compiled the database under 2007.
    convertion from .mdb to .accdb + rename .accdb to .accdr

    Access runtime 2007 is installed on a XP SP3.
    I have renamed the database to accdr, I have created a shortcut with /runtime parameter.
    When I create a new db under 2007 in which I import all the objects from the old database, and when I run the new database under access 2007 runtime then the database opens without any problem. Can somebody help me?

    User level security is supported in Access 2007 if you keep your database in the mdb format. You can event create an MDE form Access 2007.

    Is there some reason that you did not leave the database as a .mdb so that you can continue to use the ULS?

    Thanks for your answer;
    The only reason is that I want to run the database under access 2007 runtime. I thought that it must be an accdr? Is this possible for a mdb with user level security to run it under runtime 2007?

    I run Access 2002/2003 MDEs using the Access 2007 runtime.

    You do not have to use the ,.accdr extension to use the Access runtime versions.

    In the past to get the full version of Access to start in runtime mode you have to use the /runtime command line switch with your MDB or MDE.

    With Access 2007 it is not possible to rename your database to have the .accdr extension and this will cause the full version of Access to start in runtime mode.

    I deploy all my front end as an MDE or ACCDE. I always use the Access runtime mode. If the full version of Access is installed, still require Access to be run in /runtime mode.

    With an .ACCDE I do not rename it to a .accdr and it works just fine.

    Yes, you can use an MDB/MDE with ULS with Access 2007.
