report grouping and sort

I've got 2 reports and need help with both of them;

1. I want the report to group the dates (format: 2011/01/05), but when I choose this option I get this:
Header Q1 2011
and then all the dates are still underneath each other.



2. The other report is grouped by a description and is sorted by the description, but I want it grouped by the description and sorted by the Date.

Can someone please help?

what do you mean "grouped by the description and sorted by the Date". can you give a example?
