"DLL Error" message trying to import from Excel

I want to import 4 columns of data from an Excel spreadsheet into an existing Access table. I have tried the import function in the various ways (csv, etc.) but in all cases I get the message: "Error in loading DLL". As an alternative, thinking it might be possible, I've tried to copy and paste the data from the spredsheet into the Access table (with identical column headers), but with no luck. What do I do?

try linking to the excel just as if it is an Access table...the wizard will step you thru it once you get it going...

That didn't work either. The "Error in loading DLL" message keeps popping up.

hmmm sounds like a system issue...be sure your OS and Office are both updated on the PC..... is there another PC you can trial?

That has been my suspicion from the start. I think I was successful in doing this several years ago with an earlier version of Office and it worked like a charm, which is why I'm irritated. I think maybe some or all of the DLL files are missing. I will try to see if they can be downloaded. Thanks.
