I've not used a split form yet but Datasheet view is just a special Continuous Form view and as such the only way a control can display a unique value is by being bound to a field. You may need to adjust your design.
Any ideas/tips on what I can do to make it work? I don't need to have it as a split form but would like to keep it there so they can see the new entries
Doh!! I just realized that the box that was changing was only really there to help me choose the next two boxes information. So in the grand scheme of things, it's ok that that box changed. I just hid it on the subform and I'm good :-)
