Strange error message when trying to update data in a table

I have a table with data copied from a remote database.
For practical reasons, I keep a local copy, and regularly update the data.
I do this by running a query that deletes all the data in the loca table, then running a query that adds all the data from the remote table.

Today I get a strange error message, it says that the database "" cannot be opened.

It seems Access is searching for a database with zero characters in the database name.
This was not a problem only minutes ago. Any suggestions as to what happened?

regret none at all without seeing the code you are using. Best guess at the moment is you have not specified a database path/name in whatever code you are using

How are you connecting to that remote table? Is it linked, or are you connecting with code? If it is linked, did you try deleting the link and then reconnecting it?

Are you running the query through VBA, or just through the navigation pane?

Access has a nasty habit of giving very misleading error messages at times; this might be one of them. Is the remote database in a location that could go down once in a while, or might it have been moved wothout your knowledge? Either one might lead to that error message.
