    Make a form smaller

I want to know how I can make my form not take up the whole screen when switching to "Form View"?
This is what it looks like

I want to make it smaller.

I also didn't have much luck with that dark grey rectangle box running down the left hand side of the form. How do I make it go all the way down? In design view, it goes right to the bottom but when switching to form view, it shows as per this above image. I used a "Rectangle" box and then changed the background colour. Maybe this is not the right way to fill in a section of the form a different colour to the rest of the form.

the form will only occupy the space given in design mode, and in normal mode (non tab).
but if you show it in MAX mode, then if will fill the whole screen.

but it looks like you are using tabs, so you get max mode. Take the win.

    You have two possible solutions
    1. Use a popup form
    2. Use overlapping windows instead of tabbed documents

Colin's #2 suggestion is the answer.

First thing I do, when starting a new database, is switching from Tabbed Documents to Overlapping Windows. It gives you much more control over the design of Forms!

Go to Access Options > Current Database.
