White space between data columns in bar chart.

I think this is fairly self-explanatory. I have a 100% stacked bar chart in my report. I notice that the coloured bars are quite thin and there is a lot of white space between each vertical bar. I know it would be easy to get rid of this in Excel.. is there a setting I'm missing in Access? I feel like I've been through all of them to no avail.

    Thanks

I don't seem to see that anywhere. Am I going crazy?

Correction. It is column stacked 100% not bar stacked. Though I don't think that should make a difference.

In the older style charts, click on one of the columns then select format Data Series and go to Options tab ....
Both overlap and gap width are worth checking out

If using modern charts, there will be a similar setting

I don't seem to have any settings like that. Here are the only settings I can see. I also can't seem to click into the chart any further to get at any other properies.

You are using the modern charts which I don't have to hand at the moment. There should be a similar setting

Look at the dropdown list. Are there other chart components listed?

In Access 2010 I would double click on the chart object to go into chart edit mode to modify its components. Try it.

So it seems to be inserting some kind of strange chart. When I insert using the drop down to the right of the controls box I lose the ability to double click into the chart and change settings.

When I add chart as a control then I can double click and go into the settings. That seems like a strange and very inconvenient bug.

As I understand it, Access 2016 (or 2013) added a 'modern chart' feature but also still makes the old MSGraph tool available. Guess you must choose which one you want to use.

I cannot get the old tool to do anything as smooth as the modern chart. I think I will go with the modern chart and leave this thread open to see if someone comes up with something I am missing.

For the record. The attached picture shows what I'm trying to fix. I am trying to get rid of all that white space between the bars. Click image for larger version.
