    To Much Data In Subreport

    Hi,
I am a new Access user. Been using Excel for making reportsfor years. Really like all the control available when making a report in Access so I thought I would give it a try. Hopefully my days of merging cells are over. So, after a bunch of YouTube videos and stuff I read online here is my very first attempt at an access database.

The problem I am having I believe is with the subreport in the main report. I have Option-A and Option-B data in my table. Both show up in the main report. Need to figure out how to generate to separate reports. One with Option-A data and one with Option-B data.

Attached is an example report of how I would like it to look and my database. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please go easy on me as this is my first post and I am not great at explaining things.

    Thanks again!!!

Your data is not normalized, common for somebody moving from Excel (giveaway is numbered fields). To your question, you want to specify the option? I'd add a combo box to the form and make the subreport based on a query that looked there for the criteria.

FWIW, Access is easy to do poorly, and having an Excel paradigm will only hurt you. Suggest you at least read up on normalization and other vital topics for beginners. Skip that and you might just build something that will thwart you every step of the way. Here's a set of links to get you started. If they don't appeal to you, find others on the subject(s) that do.

Normalization is paramount. Diagramming maybe not so much for some people.
