Display Search Criteria in Report Header - #Name? Error

    Hi folks,

I'm having issues with getting textboxes to display selected "criteria" in my report headers. All I can get them to display is #Name?

For instance, one report is Assets By Contractor. The user is presented with a form that has a combo box list with the available Contractors in it. Once they select a contractor the report opens displaying the filtered data. Previously, I had a textbox in the report header where the control source was "Forms![frmAssetsByContractor]![cboContractor1]". This worked and would display the selected contractor. The same approach was taken for all other reports. All the textboxes displayed the user input criteria without fail until now. Something, I'm not sure what, has changed so I tried creating a report from scratch to see if that was the issue but I still get #Name? displaying instead.

Happy to provide whatever other information I can to get to the bottom of this. Unfortunately, I can't load up a copy of the DB as all necessary data in it for it work is considered confidential.

Access version is currently 2010 (long story involving a much older database that required 2010).

    Thanks in advance!

The form providing the data is no longer open? It's usually something like that, or a name change to a form/report or one of its referenced controls/fields.

Why does report have to reference combobox to display contractor? Isn't contractor in the report's RecordSource?

Could copy db and remove confidential data.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Of course! *facepalm* I'd set the form to close, when it should be minimized. I knew it would've been something bleedingly obvious that I wasn't considering.

    Thank you!

Glad to have helped. I leaned that way because recreating the report changed nothing, so I guessed the problem to be elsewhere. Goes to show that more concise info here is usually a good thing.
