    2 Forms & 1 Table

    Hi,

    I have a table with 15 fields

The first 5 fields are generic (including the KeyID)

The next 5 fields relate to a particular scenario and theremaining 5 fields relate to another scenario.

I have created 2 forms for the 2 different scenarios withthe fist 5 fields being the same. The forms are set to go to new record whenloaded.

I can open Form 1 with no problem but cannot open Form 2.

I’m guessing it is because both forms are using the sameKeyID.

Is there a way to get around this?

I have tried using 2 subforms but it looks really messy. Isit possible for both subforms to be invisible and on clicking on a commandbutton, open the subform that is required?

Any creative suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

Try using a Query of the table as the RecordSource on the form rather than the table directly.

    Hi RuralGuy.

The problem with having 2 forms from one query is that when I open either form it will not go to a new record. (The same problem I am having using a table).

    Cheers

I suggest you tell us more about What your database is about in simple terms.
You mention 1 table with 2 different scenarios, but we have no idea of the details or meaning.
Forms are a technique --HOW -- to interact with data that resides in your table(s).
Readers need to know WHAT you are dealing with before suggesting HOW it might be achieved.
    More info please.

I have resolved this now by using 2 subforms making them invisible and depending on which one i want to use open/make visible via a command button.

Many t hanks for your help/replies.
