It's because you haven't added the checkbox control to the detail section of the report.
See attached DB. I also cleaned up the report a bit, as it was too wide, and some of the textboxes showing ####### because too narrow.

Actually, it's not. The property sheet has a combo containing the form or report and every object on it. Choose one and it gets highlighted. You might then need to scroll around to see it, but that's how easy it is.
How/where do you want the count to appear? For each patient? For each Date? For each Doctor? For the entire Report?For counting the checked NEW fields I put =Count([CHECK23]) but it is giving error.

OK, it's done with sorting and grouping at bottom of window in design mode.
