    AutoNumber vs. Composite Key

I have a table where three fields are needed to make a record unique. Sometimes the user might only need to change the value for one of those three key fields (ie, Posting Date). If I used an AutoNumber field, I could change the value in these three fields.

Which is the better database design -- add AutoNumber field or Composite Key?

    Thanks.

I vote for autonumber PK and then set the 3 fields as unique compound index.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
