Exporting my Access Report into an Excel Template

    Hi Guys

I know his has been covered before as I have seen he thread, but I really am stuck and did not understand the thread. Please can you help me, bearing in mind that I am a newbie.

I have an Access Report that pulls from a query with parameter values. (The query forces the user to select a date range in order to show the running hours of a machine.) I get the report to work nicely.

I also have an Excel sheet that I have designed a template in that I would like my Access Report to populate.

I can export to Excel no problem....How do I work with a template? Do I create the template first then try get Access to populate it? If so ...How?

    Thanks a million
    Peter

Bing: Access VBA export Excel template.

    Here is one https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Fo...excel-template

Alternatively, have Excel pull data from Access.

Well, this is going to require automation. So, let's start with... When you want to export a parameter query to Excel you are going to need a Form to input the date range. So, create a Form with two UNBOUND text boxes. Note, the Form needs to be unbound. You are also going to need to set up your Template in Excel. Now, once you have those things set up please post the SQL of the query. Going to meed more later on but this should get us started.

Side note, this is going to a day or two and sometimes I get busy but I will stay with you till it's done!

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
