Uploaded to sharepoint issues editing existing data

    Hi All,

I'm sure this will be something simple (we hopefully anyway!)

I have uploaded a database to sharepoint online, opened the front end which is located on a non-shared folder on my PC and i can add records to the database and all forms, reports, queries etc all work as previously worked and i can access all the old data which was in the tables uploaded to sharepoint. The issue i'm having is that when i try and amend existing data (that was in the sharepoint upoad) that as soon as I hit save or try to move to the next record my PC just freezes and/or the save circle just keeps whirring on forever until you quit the program. I am assuming.... that this is a permissions issue and that somehow I don't have permission to edit the existing data. I also cannot amend any data that I have added since the database was uploaded to sharepoint so it's as if as soon as the data is uploaded to the sharepoint table that it becomes read only. I have searched all the options I can find in the front end of the database and I have changed the default open mode to shared and no joy. I'm now assuming though that I somehow need to change the read /write properties of the tables in the back end, but i'm new to sharepoint and have no idea how to do this.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Bump!

    any help please?

I have tried loggging into my sharpeoint website and granting edit permission to all the user groups for the list associated with this data base, but still no joy.

Your help would be much appreciated,

    Thanks

    Hi there!

I have the exact same issue. I can see your post is quite old, but i wonder if you ever found a solution to this issue.

    Hi Fez,

Unfortunately i cannot remember that far back, but i don't think i found a solution to this, sorry.

We use Powerapps now instead of sharepoint. Find this much easier and flexible to use.

    Good luck

Thank you for you quick reply! Unfortunately we don't use Powerapps, so my struggle continues....
