    Counting groups in reports bug

    Hi

I have a report that is grouped by Product.
I have a Total at the bottom of the report which adds the number of lines in the report.
I'm trying to make the Total count the number of groups instead of number of lines.

    Here's what I've done.

I've added a footer to the Product field and added a text box called groupCount whose control source is =1.
Ive set the Running Sum for this box to Over All.
My Total box Control Source in the report footer is =[groupCount]
This works as expected but I have unexpected behavior.

When the Running Sum is set to Over All the second last Product code is missing from the report...

If I change the running sum back to No then the Product displays correctly...

It appears to be a bug, does anyone know how to fix this or is there an alternative way of counting groups in reports?

    Thanks

Cannot replicate issue. How do you get that count calc to display only once? If you want to provide db for analysis follow instructions at bottom of my post.

Attached below is a sample of my issue.
    Group report count.zip

There is a text box called 'groupCount' and when the 'Running Sum' property is changed to 'No' then the problem goes away but I need it setting to 'Over All' for my total group count to be correct.

I've solved this by re-building the report from scratch. I still don't know what was causing it but I have a solution.

    Thanks

Unexplained weirdness indicates corruption. Often fixed by rebuilding.
