Need to Attached PDF File to Report

    Hi All,

I made a quotation database. I can now click a button and generate a PDF quote.

I want to add the terms and conditions to each quote.

Problem: I have no idea how to include 1 page of text in the report or how to get Access to use a PDF file stored outside of access.

    Any help?

Add the terms and conditions as a sub report at the end of the quote report, a simply create one pdf.

By using a sub report you keep the text and design of your T & C's separate, so changes are easily kept track of.

Access cannot embed pdf in report. Viewing a pdf within Access requires a web browser control on a form.

Other image file types can be embedded on report.

    Hi,

I tried adding it as an image but the report generation is very slow and only shows blank pages where the image should be.

Please let me know if you have any other advice.

    Thanks,

You tried adding a pdf file into report? Already advised cannot do that.

Your terms & conditions would have to be included as a jpg or png image or as text in textbox(es).

There is actually a number of better ways of doing this.
    a) Type up the T&C's into another report , and add that on as a sub report in the report footer. You can embed a word document if that's how your original document is stored.
    b) Store the T&C's as a PDF on your company Internet and simply point customers to the website using a hyperlink at the bottom of your report for the current version.

Just to expand on Minty's comment from post 2, create your report with the quotation & include a subreport with the T&C.
Save the report as a PDF and send that to the customer.

Thank you for your help. I tried putting the text into a subreport with text boxes. The text is too long for the text boxes, so I made multiple text boxes. The combined report doesnt look presentable. I will continue messing around with it to see if I can get it to work. In the worst case, I can ask my team to combine the quote and TC pdf outside of access.

It is possible to automate merging of PDF files into one document.

But did you look at converting the PDF to jpg images?

Try using labels, not text boxes to hold large text paragraphs on a report.
A text box defaults to a 255 character limit. Labels don't have this problem.
