    Trying to link Name and ID from one list to another (Want Name on Form to Update ID Field)


    Hello, so I have a list with two fields linked with two fields in another table, those are "Customer Name" and "Customer ID". I want a way have entering the Customer Name to automatically fill in the Customer ID, or by filling in the Customer Name from a dropdown on a form, for the Customer ID to be updated in the data list. Right now, it's allowing me to have separate Customer Name and Customer ID for a single entry in Table 2. I need them to correspond to the same entry in Table 1. Thank you for any and all replies.

    For starters, the customer name should only be saved in a "customer" table. In related tables, only the ID should be saved. This may help:
