    Relationships - What's with this?

I just opened a new mdb (2000-2003 formatted) in A2013 and was ready to add tables and their respective relationships. From DATABASE tools -> Relationships I get some foreign tables displayed (screenshot). What's with that?

I have never figured out why this happens. I ignore or remove.

Thanks June. I tried to "remove" but "permissions" wouldn't allow. I can push the relationship off to the side and simply add my stuff as you suggested. I wonder if the developers are aware of the strange behavior?

These are 3 hidden, system tables and the relationships are automatically created in all new databases
If you have Show Hidden Objects = True before you first open the Relationships window, you will see these tables & the links
If Show Hidden Objects = False, you won't see them

You can't remove the links as Access uses them. However you can right click & hide these tables from the Relationships window

System objects continue to appear in Relationship display even with check boxes un-checked.

    From the link you provided:

you can remove them from the Relationships window without problems.
I've not been able to remove them from the display.

I was able to delete all tables from the relationships window using delete key. If I right click > show all tables they all come back with relationship links.

Right click on one of the tables & select Hide Table. Repeat for the other 2. Save. Close & reopen. Gone!

    From my previous reply:
If you have Show Hidden Objects = True before you first open the Relationships window, you will see these tables & the links
If Show Hidden Objects = False, before you first open the Relationships window, you won't see them
BTW - this 'feature' goes back to A2007 - & its a design flaw in my opinion

I saw the Right-click option to "Hide Table" before I even posted the issue. However, it wasn't clear at all if I would potentially corrupt the DB so thought I'd ask the experts before I caused any damage.

    Thanks to all,
    Bill
