    Problem displaying popup form

I have a popup form containing a single text box that is locked, the form's type is continuous records. The text box's background and border style are transparent. The intent is to have a display that more-or-less mimics the display of a list box. (The app's requirement is that each item displayed respond to conditional formatting so a list box alternative isn't applicable.)

There are two problems: 1) When I select any of the items displayed their backgrounds become totally "black". 2) The backgrounds of alternating non-selected items are a very pale blue on an otherwise white display.

Below is a screenshot of the form's format property and also for the text box. I'm assuming the solution is staring me right in the face but I'm still not seeing it

Scratch item #2, there's an background alternating property of the Detail Section that controls that behavior, not the form's properties.

Scratch item #1. The backcolor property of the text box has to be the same as the form's backcolor, in the current setting that would be white.

For possible future use, you CAN add colour to listboxes using formatting (also to combos, queries & tables)
See the examples on this thread: https://www.access-programmers.co.uk...d.php?t=297923

Colin, as far as I know, conditional formatting of listboxes and combos applies to their entire content. With the app I'm putting together, each item in a list of items needs formatting independent of all the items, like font weight and color in addition to background color. Am I missing something?

    Thanks for the thoughts,
    Bill

    Hi Bill
You're missing the fact that I'm not using CF in listboxes
The colours are defined in the field formatting and there are limitations but it's worth looking at.
It's easiest way to understand is to download the example I provided in that thread.

    Hi Colin,
I reviewed the content at the link(s) provided and understand your point(s). I really need the total flexibility of CF on an open popup form at run-time for each item independently. There is information in each query record to which CF responds appropriately. The query itself also plays a role in that it will returned indented items in some cases.

    Again, thanks for your thoughts.
    Bill
