Question Export Excel - subreport header shows more than once

    Hi Access exports,

I am new to the Access report. I am trying to create the Main report with two sub-reports.
The first sub-report will list the overall total complaints for each company.
Then, the second sub-report will list each case by company.

The print preview in PDF format is fine, which prints the second sub-report columns once only.
However, when I exported in excel format, the column headers repeated for each company.

Is there any way to make it print once in excel?

    Thanks everyone for your help!

It's not printing, it's exporting and that is the difference in output.
I'm not sure how you can suppress that to be honest.

Maybe look at the report settings or probably better still create a query and some VBA that exports the sub dataset to a second worksheet.

Unless you are using an Access report with a very simple layout, exporting to Excel doesn't work well
For example compare the 2 screenshots attached for an access report (with header & footer sections plus an image in the footer) with the exported Excel version

Its also possible to export to Word as an RTF file - don't bother - the results are often even worse
In fact you may actually get better output exporting as a text file or HTML.

Exporting to PDF is the only way of getting an accurate representation of the original for all reports
If you need editable output then, as Minty suggested, export the table or query used as the datasource instead

I've included all the output types in the attached zip file if you are interested in comparing them

Thank you Minty and ridders52 for help!

I meant exporting in Excel format, not actually printing the report (will be careful with wordings next time).

The PDF export is fine, but then it does not allow the report users to filter/select the data.
I guess in the meanwhile, manually removing those repeated headers is the way out (luckily I only have to do this report once a month).

    Thanks again!
