    Report not adding new rows

    Hi all,

I'll preface this stating that I have limited Access knowledge. I program extensively in Excel macros. An employee of mine needs some help so I'm trying to figure this out.

So in access there is a Fraud Database. You can add records directly to it. Once added, you can bring up one of the Forms she has set up and the newly added record will be there once I hit refresh.

In the report, it doesn't update for some reason. I've hit refresh, added new rows of data, etc. Nothing. SQL isn't involved here so I'm assuming they built the report off of the form?

What are some things I can test and try to find the culprit to this?

    Thanks

First thing I'd check is the record source of the report. There may be SQL or a query there that restrict the data. I suppose it may not have one, and its controls get values from the form, in which case it would only show what's on the form.

Ok. Where do I go to check that? Sorry, newbie at Access.

Found it. All fields are blank down at the bottom in the criteria section. What's next?

If you run that query/SQL, does it return the records you're missing? Another thing to check is how it's opened. OpenForm has a wherecondition argument that can filter the report.

Also look at the report Filter and FilterOnLoad properties.

    Post code that opens report.

Post the report sql statement of its recordsource.

If you want to provide db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
