    populate a field (255 caracts)

    Hi

How to populate a field with several lines?
If I try to copy and paste from MS Excel a table with several lines Access says the text is too long.
Don't want to use a memo field. Itīs not necessary.

    Thanks in advance

If the text including any spaces is longer than your field size you will get the error.
Check the field size is 255.
If it already is that size, then a memo field is necessary

BTW it is better to use an append query than paste append

I suspect it is really several rows, not several lines, which is an entirely different matter.
