Is there a maximum number of linked tables in Access?

I have learned the hard way that there is a limit to Access DB size at 2 GB, +/-.

So, I am planning a new DB which will have a number of linked tables. I would like to know if there is a limit to their number? I expect that there will be less than 100 linked tables, below 2GB in total DB size.

Is this well within Access capability?

I think you'll be fine. Linked tables won't count for much against the 2Gb limit. I just checked one of my apps and it's got 68 linked tables.

There is a limit of 2048 OPEN tables including linked tables & hidden system tables

My largest database has approx 350 linked tables and a smaller number of local / system tables
AND they're never all loaded at the same time so not a problem

More importantly, you can only have a maximum of 255 connections at any time
