Similarly, I get an error(#Type) for some values. What to do?

Provide more details of the errors so someone can answer properly

Ok but are you just summing the numerical part? Is it number datatype? Integer? Double? Or what?
Still not enough info to assist.

And what about the #Type error you also mentioned?

Yes I am summing the numerical part Double.

In a similar case in another report a #Type error occurs for Totals.

You are still not providing useful information.
How do you expect anyone to be able to provide a sensible answer to this

In an attempt to move this forward, I copied the info in post 3 to a text file, imported it to Access, separated out the currency values, saved as double (as you stated)
I then created a report with totals in the report footer
As you can see, it works fine.

Tank You for all the trouble you have taken. But the errors occur occassionally. I will have to monitor under which circumstances these occur. I will also have to check the querry on which the report is based.

If the errors occur occasionally then the cause is probably the data itself. You probably are getting non numerical values in fields - sometimes they aren't even visible i.e. space or special character... in which case you need to do a character count to check....
