Question Split Database but no edits can happen

    Hi Everyone,

Ive been working on this database and have just split into Back End and Front End with no problems as ive done this before.

I can open it and edit anything i like but by other 2 users cant. Theres a note (its not an error thats popping up) to say that the recordset is not updateable. They cant edit anything at all. There are no user levels or anything.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

do the other users have rights to read AND write to the folder?
do the users have db settings: macros enabled and trust set to OK?

Yes to both. Its a shared server folder which we all have access to. and they have trust centre enabled.

does every user have their own copy of the frontend app?

other that that, there's no reason for them to be locked out. (unless you wrote code to do so)

They all click on the same file to open the front end. Should this matter?

Probably the 1st user opens the front-end, and it will be locked for the other users.
