Criteria for report/subreport needs to be entered multiple times.

After trying for MONTHS to get a report to summarize data and it not working, I decided to create a subreport to do the summary work.

So, I have a main report that shows truck runs based on date range criteria and time of day criteria. The report uses a query that asks the user to enter start date, end date, start time, and end time. The report works great, showing information about the trucks used and what is on the truck.

I created a subreport that counts the number of truck runs and gives a total of runs for the specified date and time range. The subreport works great, although the user does have to enter all criteria twice, in order for the subreport data to show up on the main report.

Is there a way to only enter criteria once, instead of twice, to see the entire report? Each report does use it's own query.

A big problem comes up when the report needs to be printed. To print, it asks the user for the search criteria about FOUR times, and then it shows an error and does not print.

I hope I made this clear enough. Any help would be really great! Thank you.

Data should not be entered twice.
I dont think you need a sub report.
make 1 query that has all the information you want on it.
Make a report (not sub report) and group the info together and sum on the groups.
