Unhappy Built In Export for Query to Excel Not Showing Totals

**Initially posted in the Macros Forum**

I created a button to use the built-in ExportWithFormatting macro to export a query with a total to an Excel file. I have several Totals queries to be individually exported to different Excel files on-demand by the user. Am using Access 2013.

The total does not show on the exported file. It’s the same query underlying a report, and the Total works in the report. Any ideas appreciated!

Below are snapshots of the macro, query, and Excel output as an example.

total is not part of the query.
you can put a SUM formula in the sheet after the export

Actually, though, it does work to show totals. However, it only works once, the first time the export is run! It is as though I need to refresh the query somehow.
