storing login name and using it as default entry in a form

Hi all. I know how to make a login in access to validate the user. Is there any way to store the user that logged in and use that value for a default entry in any form they work in? for example right now the process is they select their name from a list, however as you can imagine this is error prone. I would like to populate this field in the form with the user login name. Thanks in advance!

I set value of a textbox on form that never closes (MainMenu). Then code refers to the textbox when I want to set value of field.

Alternatives to textbox are global variable and TempVars.
