Hi newbie to board so sorry if repeat question, but I did search first...

.... I am trying to sum some records with very specific criteria.

Specifically, I have records that has school number, grade that was tested, race of text taker, and then the results.

    So for example,
School number 123 Grade 3 white, Number tested, number proficient.
School number 123 Grade 4 white, Number tested, number proficient
School number 123 Grade 5 white, Number tested, number proficient.

And there are hundreds of schools in the database. What I am trying to do is sum the number tested and number proficient by school number and race, so that I have a total number tested - which would include all grades - and total number proficient.

Anyone that can help me, or I can share my database with them and they can write the query for me, I will send you a 6-pack.

    Thanks!!

Create a query that returns the 4 relevant fields. In the ribbon, click on the Totals icon, looks like a Greek E. Change Group By to Sum for the 2 number fields and run it.
