    Creating Relationship

    Hello,
    Forum

I am trying to create an inventory management database.
    Referring to Inventory 2007 template.
Creating database in microsoft access 2016.

    I have a question.

I would like to Categories Employees with their items.

If there is any changes to the Category both tables will be updated.

And I would like to filter our the items based on their Category.

Should I create a link? Or is there another way I can do it?

    TIA

    Haziq

There is a table for Categories. This will have CategoryID (autonumber) and category description. The ID never changes, only the description could change. The employees table will carry the ID which will never change (unless the employee moves to a different category). These two tables will be linked on CategoryID.
