    Long Text field in report

I have a long text field in a report that doesn't show all of the characters in the field. How do I get all of the text to show on reports?

    Thank you in advance!

    Jo

Then that should sort it out, there must be something else preventing it showing all the data. Is it on a subreport? Or a detail section that doesn't allow CanGrow?

It is in a detail section. It gave the option in the properties so I thought it was allowed. Is there any way to get around this?

Click on the word "Detail" and look at its properties.

Does your report query do any grouping?
If it does and your field is truncated you may need to read here about Memo Fields (Long Text in newer versions)

My report is sorted on a concatenated field. Is that what is causing the problem?

In case anybody else is having this problem, I figured mine out. If you have anything in the "format" section under format properties for the field, it truncates the data. I had @; " --" in there to display the dashes when the field was null, but apparently that causes the truncation so I took it out and then it worked. Will have to find another way to indicate no data for those long text fields.

Tried putting that formatting in the underlying table's format property for the long text fields but it doesn't translate into the report.
