External Data Excel is grayed out

In Ms Access when i start the key sequence to import and Excel spreadsheet, I go to External data at the of the screen. I click on it and everything is grayed out except
"Saved Imports".



My question is simple. How do i get the other icons to color themselves. Write now as I said they are grayed out and are unusable.

How do I get them to be usable?

I have got this one. When I went back to MS Access 2016, I noticed after clicking on External data ,that Excel was not grayed out. In fact none of the icons were so I guess the issue is overcome by events.

I do not know what happened, but clearly it is now working an this is no longer a problem.
