Update: add query

I am having an issue with add query to tblupdating from tbladdnew.

I am trying to add subsystem, item, location, total quantity entered from frmAddNew to tblupdating for updating in frmLog.

Can someone please help me out?

which is it, an update query or an append query?
if you are updating, and if you have > 1 table joined, then the join properties will prevent and update.

there should be no problems with an append , it only appends to 1 table.

Can I append just one record to the other tbl? Only the current record being entered.
Each time I hit enter on the frmAddNew it appends all the previous records as well. Giving me copies or duplicates.
