Query. New column with formula

I have two dates columns in a query, I. E. Minimum and maximum, I want to create third column use iif to compare two columns with a third date eg jan 1 2017 "if maximum is less then and minimum is greater than jan 1, result Amount column, otherwise blank, my query results all blanks, need help please

Post your attempted query SQL statement.

If Minimum is always less than Maximum for each date pair, the condition you describe cannot exist, hence the blank results. The criteria makes no sense to me.
