    Welcome aboard!

That is a great place to start. Understanding relational databases and the rules of normalization are key to developing a well-designed database. Here is a an article that is a good place to start: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...4-bd4f9c9ca1f5
When I started, I also picked up a book of Relational Databases and Rules of Normalization. Understanding those concepts helped me immensely.
And of course, feel free to post any questions you may have here.

And, thank you for your service!

    Steve,

Thank you for all of the links. I'm slowly learning this as I hope to create a productive easy to Database Application. In my view we spend an inordinate amount of time "tracking" different items and personnel. I'm astonished at how good these Programs such as Excel and Access are but we don't seem to use them effectively.

Thank you again for your efforts to get me started off right. I've started with Steve Bishop on YouTube and found his instruction very easy to follow.

    V/r,
    Jim
